Gelato near you

Gelato near Runaway Bay

We’re a few minutes south of you, straight down Marine Parade at the Aqua Complex in Labrador. [DRIVE TIME — check it]

After the game

If your weekends revolve around the Runaway Bay Sports Super Centre, we probably don’t need to sell you on the idea of gelato afterwards.

We sponsor two local junior clubs — Breakers Netball and the Labrador Tigers junior AFL — with player-of-the-week rewards. If someone in your family has brought us a voucher after a good game, that’s us.

[KYLE: is this the right description of how the rewards work? Correct it.]

The rest of the week

Dinner then dessert. The Aqua Complex has food, and Marine Parade has more. We’re open till 9pm, later than most dessert places round here.

A walk by the water. The Broadwater foreshore is flat and easy, and it’s a nicer evening than it sounds if you haven’t done it.

The pelican feed. Daily at 1.30pm at Charis Seafoods, on Marine Parade in Labrador. Free to watch, and about a hundred wild pelicans turn up. Kids love it.

What we do

Mini scoops. Instead of one big scoop of one flavour, you get three, six or nine smaller ones, and you can have a different flavour in every scoop. For a family that argues about flavours, it settles a lot of arguments.

Around 16 to 24 flavours in the cabinet, changing regularly, made here in small batches. Around eight non-dairy options daily: three vegan gelatos and five sorbets.

In 2026 our pear and ginger gelato was judged Champion Flavoured Ice Cream or Gelato of Show at the Royal Queensland Ice Cream, Gelato & Sorbet Awards. Chocolate, French vanilla bean and strawberry each took gold.
